Each Spring, the La Tavola Napa Spring Release Party  is eagerly anticipated and it’s always one of the best industry parties of the year.  This year’s event was no exception. The showroom was filled with great wedding industry partners and fabulous table designs everywhere. And this year a new addition, the new sister company Theoni Collection made it’s debut,  designed to enhance tabletop decor with beautiful votives, lanterns, napkin rings and frames.

Delectable delights were provided by The Fremont Diner, Cafe Scooteria, Alexis Baking Company, Ca’Momi Restaurant, Petaluma Pie Company, Crisp Bakeshop and wine from Scribe Winery, Duckhorn Vineyards and Francis Ford Coppola. World renowed spinstress, DJ KISS kept us on the dancefloor, with grace and fun. The floral for this year’s event were provided by some of the best in the business and some of my absolute favs;

Poppystone Floral Couture, Shotgun Floral Studio, Brown Paper Design and Louloudi

La Soiree SF 2014 was an amazingly fun celebration hosted by the French American Chamber of Commerce (FACCSF). We were absolutely delighted when we were asked to design a VIP table for the event. This year’s theme was “From Cannes to Hollywood” and featured the Crème de la Crème of French and Californian wine, food and top chefs from some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s favorite restaurants.

Ten Designers, Ten Chefs and Ten Winemakers….put them all together and you have the makings of an amazing evening. I was paired with renowned Chef Nick Ronan of Bisou SF, RB Cellars and as a special treat for my table, Macarons from Fleur de Farine and Terra SF (a great SF Wedding Venue) was the perfect venue for the evening’s festivities.

Here’s a look into the evening, maybe you’ll join us for next year’s event….

Sara & Shawn might be two of the most loving people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. As you’ll see by the pictures from their wedding featured in this blog post, they just exude a sweetness and love that had us all falling in love with love. The couple, who live in Reno, NV wanted a destination wedding so they came to San Francisco, CA….one of the greatest cities in the world. They fell in love with the architecture of City Hall and we decided to make an adventure of the entire wedding for them and their guests….ceremony at City Hall followed by a cable car tour of the city and dinner at one of the city’s culinary jewels, 25 Lusk. The best part about the wedding day is that guests didn’t have an itinerary of events, so it was a total surprise for them to come out of the ceremony to find a cable car waiting for them.

Their city tour included stops at Union Square, The Presidio, Lover’s Lane, The Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach….had to see the Golden Gate Bridge, right? Since the tour was so architectural, I wanted to make sure the reception was lush and unexpected and with the help of Soulflower SF, we created a beautiful tabletop garden in the heart of San Francisco. The private dining room of 25 Lusk is below ground with exposed brick, and concrete walls so we used tones of peach, cream, silver and pops of navy softened the space and tons of candles to really bring out the romance of the day.

The day after the wedding, the couple and their friends and family headed over to AT & T park to enjoy the Giants game….

When I met Thanh & Billy, I was instantly drawn to them. I loved their connection as a couple,  sense of style and I knew this wedding would be very personal……after all the bride was a designer too. The wedding took place at a beautiful farmhouse, a perfect place for a Napa Valley wedding and it was a foodie’s paradise featuring amazing food from Smoke Open Fire, Zuzu Napa, Hog Island Oysters, Ca’Momi, and Bouchon.

The flowers were picked by the couple and I at the flower market in San Francisco earlier in the week and beautifully arranged by the brides Aunts (5, 6 and Mom 10)….yes, there’s a lot of them. I learned in Vietnamese culture, the children are referred to by birth order..

This was truly a family affair, with Uncle Mike officiating and cousins and friends playing music and singing. Guests traveled from Viet Nam, Switzerland, Paris, and The United States to celebrate with Thanh & Billy’s Napa Valley Wedding. The bride’s mother brought gorgeous hand crafted lace runners from Viet Nam and the pattern on the some of the tables is something that I just fell in love with on a design trip into LaTavola Linen.

The evening was capped off with another round of Buttermilk Fried Chicken from Smoke and a big jump into the pool.

The couple honeymooned along the California Coast.
